
Founded on 6th September 1954, The Trinidad and Tobago Kennel Club (TTKC) is the first kennel club established in the Commonwealth West Indies and the official authority dedicated to the protection, promotion, and advancement of purebred dogs throughout Trinidad and Tobago. For more than seven decades, the TTKC has worked tirelessly to safeguard breed integrity, promote responsible ownership, and uphold the highest standards in canine breeding, health, and welfare.
The Trinidad and Tobago Kennel Club is the only internationally recognized dog registry in Trinidad and Tobago. Established on 6th September 1954 as the Caribbean Kennel Club, it became the first kennel club in the Commonwealth West Indies, setting the standard for canine governance and welfare in the region. In 1981, the Club adopted its current name, reflecting its national role and ongoing dedication to advancing canine standards.
Today, the TTKC operates under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and maintains a reciprocal agreement with The Kennel Club of the United Kingdom, strengthening its international standing. Throughout its history, the Club has remained committed to preserving breed standards, promoting responsible breeding, and fostering a vibrant community of dog owners and breeder
