The Trinidad and Tobago Kennel Club (TTKC) offers breeders the Registered Kennel Name Program, designed to protect and reserve the exclusive use of your kennel’s name in the naming of TTKC-registered dogs. Registering a kennel name safeguards your breeding identity and allows you to name the dogs you produce in a consistent and identifiable manner, helping to establish a prominent foundation within your chosen breed.
A registered kennel name is a mark of credibility and professionalism in the breeding community. It reflects your commitment to preserving breed integrity, maintaining high breeding standards, and contributing to the legacy of purebred dogs in Trinidad and Tobago.
Requirements for Application
Before submitting an application for a Registered Kennel Name, all applicants must meet the following criteria.
- Breeder and Exhibitor in Good Standing
- Applicants must be recognized as breeders or exhibitors in good standing with the Trinidad and Tobago Kennel Club (TTKC).
- Active Involvement in TTKC Events
- Applicants must demonstrate a documented history of active participation in TTKC events within the last five (5) years.
- This includes ownership of a dog that has competed in TTKC events.
- Breeding Record
- Applicants must have registered three (3) TTKC litters of any breed in within the past three years.
- Applicants who have registered at least one (1) litter in the past three years may be considered for provisional approval.
Naming Guidelines
- Registered kennel names must be unique to the individual(s) applying within that breed.
- A kennel name may consist of up to three words and a total of no more than 15 characters, including spaces or punctuation.
- Once approved, the kennel name becomes a protected part of the naming convention for dogs you breed and register with the TTKC.
